Bonnie Brewster


Bonnie is a writer, actor and teacher, with an MA in communication.

Bonnie mentored with Curt Dempster at Ensemble Studio Theater Institute in New York and later became his assistant. While there, she read 100's of submissions and aided in castings of more than 100 readings for the Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST). Three of her original plays were developed and produced in EST's Octoberfests.

On stage Ms.Brewster currently tours Southern Californian in her one woman bioplay about America's first female superstar composer, turn of the century composer Amy Beach in AMY BEACH: PORTRAIT OF AN AMERICAN COMPOSER, produced by the La Jolla Atheneum Music and Arts Library in San Diego.

Last August she appeared in INKubator's GREENHOUSE in her newest solo piece, THE SURGE.

Other notable regional stage appearances include productions with: Williamstown Theatre Co, Cincinatti Playhouse, San Diego Rep, North Coast Rep, Boston Rep, WPA Theatre, Lamb's Players/NYC; Circle Rep and the Sledgehammer Theatre.

While she was raising her son full-time in San Diego, Ms. Brewster appeared in numerous episodic television productions and performed stand up at venues such as The Comedy Store. She also wrote, produced and acted in 6 of her own stage works at St. Cecelia's Playhouse and other Southern California theatrical venues.

She has taught drama, acting and speech writing in numerous San Diego schools, and, as a teaching artist for Young Audiences of San Diego, taught residencies in drama, poetry performance and writing. She is a private speech writer and coach for individuals and corporate clients, and regularly reads, evaluates and reviews theatrical, television and movie scripts for professional clients in California and New York.
